personality
Greg Lestrade is a man of few words. Okay not exactly. Inspector Lestrade is a very intelligent man. In fact, he probably would not have become New Scotland Yard’s top detective if he did not have the intelligence or clever, for that matter to be a detective. Greg is fast to think on his feet and will always try to be the first to solve a case before he calls in Sherlock Holmes. Despite being an intelligent man Lestrade is known to be a bit little sarcastic with people. He is very trustworthy and honorable. Like most people Greg does get frustrated easily, especially at Sherlock when he just does not give him certain aspects of a case. He also is an open-minded individual and will do anything to help to anyone.
A few people tend to piss him off at times, but those people he has learned to deal with over the years and he keeps a patient attitude when dealing with those certain individuals.
miscellaneousNot married anymore, has known Sherlock for Five Years, He wears a nicotine patch and is not afraid to do a drug bust if Sherlock withholds evidence.
history Gregory Lestrade was born in London, England to Mr. and Mrs. Lestrade. Greg would be the only child and boy would he be spoiled rotten. Greg’s Dad was ex-military while Greg’s Mom was a teacher. He had a decent childhood in which he would play with wooden swords and fake guns. At a young age he was determined to become a police man. It was his ambition and he was going to make it his dream.
While studying Criminal Justice at Oxford he met his wife and the two feel in love. After university the two married. During that time span Greg began to work at Scotland Yard. While he was still a cop on the streets he met a one Sherlock Holmes. He had arrested the man for cocaine possession. Greg did not know, but it would be this man that would change his life forever. Greg helped Sherlock overcome his drug addiction.
Five years later, Lestrade became a Detective Inspector for Scotland Yard and with the help of Sherlock Holmes. He had became the best that Scotland Yard has to offer. Most of the time, Lestrade can solve his cases on his own, but half of the time the bizarre cases he gets. He consults Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. Sometimes the cases are solved instantly, but other times Lestrade is not sure if they are solvable especially when Sherlock does not bother to tell him how he figured it out.
Some of the cases are rather interesting. They have ranged from four suicides that became murders, a bomb plot and various other cases. While on ‘holiday’ aka Mycroft told him to go check on Sherlock. He helped by shooting a gun at a hound with red eyes. Greg is still baffled with that case to be honest. . .

Greg Lestrade took a deep breath as he leaned against the wall of the alley as he watched Sherlock Holmes do his deduction. It was always interesting to watch Holmes do this. Sometimes, he wished that he was that clever to do that. However, he wasn’t that clever. He blinked as Sherlock was now standing next to him. “Your victim has been married, for twenty years – happily married… she is American… approximately forty years old and she was here to watch the wedding. . ..”
Lestrade glanced at Sherlock as he told him exactly about the victim. “Okay, millions of people were here for the wedding” Lestrade said shaking his head as he rolled his eyes as he eyes met Anderson who was staring at the two of them. “Anderson turn your face. . .” Lestrade snapped as he rubbed his forehead. “Okay we got an American any name?” he asked he figured that Sherlock knew this. He watched Sherlock leave.
He was about to shout back at Sherlock, but then realized it probably was not a good idea. He figured the case was already boring. He sighed and turned his attention back to his team. “We got an American, twenty years married. . .” he trailed off trying to figure out what would be the next honorable thing to do. “See if we got any missing reports on Americans. . . “ he said shaking his head. Maybe they would get a led or something. He felt sorry for this woman’s family.
