If asked for one word to describe Lucifer, Satan, the Adversary, the Accuser -- whatever you want to call him -- most people would pick "evil" and leave it at that.
But he isn't. At least, he doesn't think of himself as such. (Who does?) He's bitter over his perceived betrayal by Michael, and furious at his Father for choosing humans over him, but as far as he's concerned he's been the one wronged the entire time. Give him enough time and he'll probably convince you too.

Lucifer's smart and charismatic, a smooth talker and very good at reading people. He's always been sarcastic, but he's become pretty well-practiced at being charming, too.
His temper, however, can be described at best as "unstable". Lucifer has a habit of losing his cool in the most violent way possible, and then snapping back to serenity as if nothing's happened. He doesn't have any qualms about taking his frustration/anger/mild irritation out on the nearest existing being, either. And he's not predictable -- he can go from perfectly calm to murderous and back again in a matter of seconds, which is part of what makes him so dangerous.
He's also extremely good at hiding all of this, even his hatred for humans. He'll use them like tools and throw them away afterwards, of course, but he's adept at doing so without them realizing it, and the dregs of his sense of angelic honor won't let him lie to them either.
All of this combines to make Lucifer incredibly hard to read, a quality which he works to keep as it has always served to his advantage.

miscellaneous it's a well-kept secret, but he actually likes human literature, at least a very little of it; he's not as scornful of musicians, either, and can play the violin himself.

history Everyone knows the story of Lucifer's fall from Heaven; how he spoke his mind against God and was cast out for it. He spent thousands of years trapped in Hell, breeding himself an army and plotting his revenge. Even trapped, he was powerful, and has used his influence to do general ill around the world since then. He used his lieutenant and fellow fallen angel Azazel and his children to trick his Vessel Sam Winchester and his brother into freeing him, and now he's steadily working towards bringing about the Apocalypse in a last-ditch attempt to defeat Michael once and for all.

Lucifer doesn't like England very much. Maybe it has to do with those two free agents who have decided that they're going to make life hard for everyone Above and Below, but one attempt at destroying the stupid island was more than enough and Lucifer isn't about to try again.
Which means that all the deaths and the rumors about "angels" that kill people and the decidedly strange happenings that are going on across the Atlantic have nothing to do with either Heaven or Hell.
This is interesting. This is an interesting thing. This is an interesting thing that is none of Lucifer's business, and he's really got his metaphorical hands full with trying to end the world and kill his stick-up-his-ass brother, but he can't help but wonder... Who's causing all this? It isn't Zachariah or any of his brothers; it isn't their style. It certainly isn't him. So what's going on? It can't be the side effects of Armageddon, because Armageddon hasn't started yet. It can't be a demon, because anyone stupid enough to try something without his permission wouldn't still be alive.
Lucifer is almost tempted to abandon his efforts entirely in an attempt to find out who or what is causing the disruptions of causality that are happening in that tiny green country.
Lucifer's always been too interested in things for his own good. It was one of the reasons he Fell.
It's only for a week, anyway.
